   STYRO-CUT 3D - the hot wire cutting system by TheCoolTool®

STYRO-CUT 3D is a new kind of hot wire cutting machine for the thermal treatment of Styrofoam and similar synthetic materials.  With Styro-Cut 3D, a common steel wire is heated up to
850 degrees Celsius that allows for cutting in any profile.  The biggest advantages of the steel wire are: it can be formed into any shape, it is much more economical, and it has a very long life.

With STYRO-CUT 3D, the use of expensive resistance wires that can not be shaped is no longer necessary.  STYRO-CUT 3D allows for plain, profile, circle, and angle cuts.  In addition, with the hand apparatus, the user is able to shape with precision from a full work piece, just like a sculptor.  The steel wire can be bent into any shape for multiple contour cutting.

STYRO-CUT 3D has been developed for:

Other uses for this machine have been for mould-shaping and the ergonomic fitting of foam seats and cockpits.

Approximate measurements 14” X 14” x 14”.  Accessories available including: length stop device, circular cutting device, hand wand for free-style cutting/sculpting and a mitering fence.

Since Summer 2005 STYRO-CUT 3D is delivered with two essential improvements:

  • The cutting wire now is led through a metal clamp pad on the table whereby working gets more simple and is easy to the table.
     
  • A socket for the manual device is assigned, which simplifies its use.

The Styro-Cut 3D, precision engineered in Austria, allows the user to create custom Styrofoam packaging and sculpt models, letters and other items in Styrofoam.

  • Voltage on the cutting wire 0,6 / 1,1 / 2V. Current on the cutting wire of Ø 1mm: 9,7 A
  • Temperature of the cutting wire 600-850 °C
  • Construction according to VDE 0720, protective system extra low potential (up to 30 W)
